So here we are guys, at the final day of the CPH Games event. I know that I haven’t done much in the way of getting out blog-esque write-ups for you guys to keep up with how we’ve been doing, but I haven’t really had much time for that until now.
Looking ahead at the tournament, we felt that we had a decently difficult group considering the talent of both rasta and anexis, but it seems like karma will pay off as we have the, what seems to be, easier side of the bracket. There are a lot of predicted top3/5 teams in the upper portion of the bracket that will undoubtedly get knocked out in an upsetting fashion. I really feel sorry for those teams, which include: mTw, roccat, mousesports, VeryGames, TargetDown, and Shark Gaming. Even if some of you do not agree with me about the last two teams on that list, nobody can really refute me on the first four.
We are really excited to get started to our day. We had a blast in the group stages and really felt we pulled together as a team. I tried to hide as much as I could so that teams that like to stand behind us with video cameras / notepads could not leverage themselves a strategical advantage against us. I believe that this trade-off to hide some of my tactics is worth losing a few extra rounds here and there in group play but not worth it enough to lose our seeding. I hope that this can be our major change that we needed from ESWC which inevitably led to our 3rd place finish.
A tip of my hat goes to rasta gaming who took a map off of us and provided a decent fight on de_tuscan. It really goes to show their skill as a team and I hope it rightfully secures a “top 5 UK” title in many peoples’ views. A wag of my finger to Tt. Dragons for being ruthless when bringing in their comps. It really killed our momentum in our first de_train match vs rasta when they unplugged our ethernet cords and power.
I’ll try to release a vlog about our living conditions as it really is quite comical. We’ve made the local trainstation’s McDonalds our staple “go-to” place for breakfast and for bed. I feel like my heart is really struggling, but I did get to do a nice 1km jog to the hotel yesterday from the venue to keep myself alive. Combine that with a few pre-game pushups and I’ll have the blood flowing for game time.
Copenhagen as a city is very nice and seemingly quiet. I haven’t been to the area since DSRack in 2010 but nothing much has changed; everyone is still fit as hell riding bikes everywhere, food is still ridiculously expensive, and the weather is cold. Oh so cold. Well, not that cold. But relatively speaking! There is an easy 15-20 celcius difference between Copenhagen and Toronto right now.
We are renting some laptops from XMG, and they are simply the best laptops that I have ever used. I’m getting 400+ constant fps in CSS with 1280×720 on the BenQ with high graphics and 8x AA and AF. They are also partnered with some crossfire tournament which is being held. The tournament has several qualifier mini-tournaments that grant the winners BYE rounds into the main tournament as well as some other prizes. I won myself a roccat keyboard for winning a qualifier tournament, and I’m looking to win the iPad3 at the main tournament which is being held later tonight!
Much appreciation to our supporters and followers. As well as those who donated to us, and of course my father. We are going for the gold.
